The third and final Best Picture nominee to never see a home release, The White Parade (1934) is considered "lost" to me due to the face that the only surviving print exists at the UCLA film archive library. Unless this ever gets restored and released, I will unfortunately never see this movie. The only Fox film to be nominated for Best Picture in 1934, this is also Fox's last film to be nominated as such before the merger with 20th Century. This was also the second film to be nominated for Best Picture that features Loretta Young, rivaling the streak by Claudette Colbert that year (she had three). The plot seems to be an inspiration to the multitudes of hospital television shows that would surface decades later, like "ER" and "Scrubs." Other than these fun facts, there doesn't seem to be much to say about the movie as nothing stands out from the minor research I did on the film.
